Chicago Fire vs. CF Montreal: Gameday Guide and How to Watch

Guess who’s back?

All eyes will be on Djordje Mihailovic when he returns to Soldier Field with CF Montreal to face his hometown club, the Chicago Fire, today at noon (WGN-TV and CFFC Live).

After the war of words between Mihailovic and the Fire this week surrounding his December trade, this will be fun. Sure, it’s a mess, but it’s an extremely entertaining mess. Will he celebrate if he scores? Will his emotions get the best of him? Will the Fire have his number and keep him out of the game?

Mihailovic is off to a hot start with Montreal. He has two goals already in 2021, and will be looking to match his career high for a season—three goals—against his old club this afternoon.

As for Chicago, after a terrible start to the season, the Fire will look to make it two wins in a row heading into the international break. After a season opening draw followed by four straight losses, the Fire grabbed their first win of 2021 last week over Inter Miami.

Some good news for Chicago: Ignacio Aliseda is still listed as questionable, but he told reporters this week he feels good and his hoping to play this week. The Argentinian designated player has been battling a thigh injury, and made just one short appearance this season, way back in the home opener.

Kit news: The Fire will wear their adidas Primeblue jerseys today. They’re made out of recycled plastic trash collected from oceans. You can buy yours here and help support Hot Time in Old Town!
