The Chicago Red Stars will visit the ninth-placed OL Reign for the seventh match of the NWSL regular season tonight in Tacoma, Washington. The match will kickoff at 9:00 PM CT.
The Red Stars rescued a late 1-1 draw against the in-form Washington Spirit on Saturday, with Morgan Gautrat’s stoppage-time penalty enough to cancel out Trinity Rodman’s 85th-minute goal which seemed to be the winner.
The Reign are winless in three, falling to defeats against Washington, Gotham, and North Carolina, all by one-goal margins. Like the Red Stars, the Reign have struggled for goals, only finding the net three times this season with goals from Jessica Fishlock, Megan Rapinoe, and Shirley Cruz. Despite their recent losses, the Reign should not be underestimated; they can call upon stars such as German international Dzenifer Marozsan, Spain right back Celia Jimenez, and former Red Star Sofia Huerta.
The Red Stars will still be without Julie Ertz due to injury. Danielle Colaprico with be unavailable for selection (hip injury), as will Arin Wright (thigh). Notably, the Reign will be without Rose Lavelle (ankle).
The match will be aired on Twitch.
