Chicago Red Stars vs. Racing Louisville: Gameday Guide and How to Watch

The Red Stars will face the Louisville expansion side for the first time ever.

The Chicago Red Stars will host seventh-placed Racing Louisville in the eighth match of the NWSL regular season this afternoon in Bridgeview, Illinois. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams. The match will kickoff at 1:00 PM CT.

The Red Stars have only won 2 of their 11 matches thus far in 2021, and have not won in two matches. Winning points against a struggling Louisville team will be crucial, as they are prepared to lose several key players to Olympic duty. Chicago is coming off of a disappointing 2-0 loss in Tacoma against the Reign. This will be the final match featuring the Red Stars’ USWNT players (Tierna Davidson, Julie Ertz, Casey Krueger, Alyssa Naeher) until after the Olympics.

Louisville has not had the strongest of starts to their inaugural season, only claiming two wins so far. They have been outscored 10-1 in their last four matches, with the lone goal in that span coming from Ebony Salmon. Familiar names in the roster include USWNT prospect Emily Fox and former Red Stars Yuki Nagasato and Savannah McCaskill.

The only player unavailable for selection for Chicago will be Julie Ertz (MCL), who is not expected to dress for the Red Stars until after the Olympics. Danielle Colaprico and Arin Wright should both return from minor injuries.

The match will be aired on Paramount+.
