The Chicago Fire are back in training at SeatGeek Stadium this week, in the middle of a three-week break for international play. The team won’t play again until they visit the Columbus Crew on June 19, but there are still plenty of chances to see some of the guys play before then.
Przemyslaw Frankowski and Poland have a friendly with Iceland on Tuesday, June 8 at 11 a.m. CT, before kicking off their UEFA EURO 2020 campaign against Slovakia on Monday, June 14 at 11 a,m, CT. The EUROS are on the ESPN family of networks, including ESPN+. Frankowski had a backheel assist in a recent EURO tune up match against Russia.
Francisco Calvo and Costa Rica will play the United States in a friendly on Wednesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. CT at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The Yanks are fresh off their 3-2 win over Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League Final. As for Calvo, he converted a penalty in a shootout loss over Mexico in the tournament semi-final. The USA-Costa Rica match is on ESPN2.
Gastón Giménez’s Paraguay side will host Brazil in a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m., before kicking off the Copa America against Bolivia on Monday, June 14 at 7 p.m. CT. Last time out, Giménez played all 90 minutes in a 0-0 World Cup qualifier draw against Uruguay. Paraguay remains in fourth place, ahead of fifth place Uruguay on goal differential. The Paraguay-Brazil match will be on FUBO-TV, and the Copa America is on ESPN+.
