The Chicago Red Stars will host the 5th placed Houston Dash in the tenth match of the NWSL regular season in Bridgeview, Illinois. The match will kickoff at 5:00 PM CT.
Much like in the previous match, the Red Stars will be missing several key pieces due to the Olympics in Tokyo. Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher, and Tierna Davidson are all a part of the squad for the tournament. Casey Krueger, who was previously an alternate for that squad, has been promoted to full member of the USWNT following the expansion of the roster size from 18 to 22. The Red Stars are coming off of a 1-0 win on the road against the Washington Spirit, with a Julia Roddar own goal the difference between the two teams.
Houston is coming off of a 2-0 win over the OL Reign, which is one of four wins from their last five matches. They have been solid defensively all season but will be without numerous starters due to the Olympics. Midfielder Kristie Mewis and goalkeeper Jane Campbell will both be with the USWNT, while Rachel Daly and Sophie Schmidt will be representing Team GB and Canada respectively.
The match will be aired on Paramount+. Tickets for SeatGeek Stadium are available.
