The Chicago Red Stars take on the ninth-placed Racing Louisville on the road in Louisville, KY on Sunday. The Red Stars are on a two-game losing streak but will look to bounce back in their first-ever trip to Kentucky. The match will kickoff at 6:30 PM CT.
This match will double as the first semifinal for the International Women’s Cup; the other semifinal will be played between Bayern Munich and PSG, and the winners of the two semifinals will play each other next week.
Alyssa Naeher will still be out for the injury she picked up in Tokyo earlier this month, and Vanessa DiBernardo will also be unavailable. Julie Ertz is still on break following the Olympics, though it appears Tierna Davidson and Casey Krueger, who were also in Tokyo, will be back for this game. Morgan Gautrat and Bianca St. Georges are questionable.
Despite being near the bottom of the table Louisville is only 5 points behind the Red Stars in what is a very close season from top to bottom. The last time the Red Stars and Racing met, Louisville emerged victorious in a dominant 3-0 win at Bridgeview in June. Familiar faces such as Yuki Nagasato and Savannah McCaskill will be available for them.
The match will be aired on Paramount+.
