The Chicago Red Stars will host the first-place Portland Thorns at Bridgeview in yet another important game as they look to secure a playoff spot for the sixth consecutive season. The Red Stars are unbeaten in four games, taking a point off of Houston in the last match before the week-long international break. Though Portland are 6 points clear at the top of the table, they lost two of their last three games heading into the break. The match will kickoff at 7:00 PM CT.

The Red Stars will only be missing Julie Ertz (Thigh) and Alyssa Naeher (Knee) through injury. Tierna Davidson, Casey Krueger, and Mallory Pugh all return from international duty with a clean bill of health and are availible for selection on Saturday. All three saw minutes in the two friendlies for the USWNT against Paraguay. Pugh played in both matches, and contributed a hat trick of assists in the first match, a 9-0 drubbing. Davidson saw 151 minutes across the two games, including an assist, and Krueger saw 61 minutes, starting the second match, an 8-0 win.

The Portland Thorns have been the most formidable team in the NWSL this season, sitting six points clear at the top with a game in hand on the second-placed OL Reign. The Thorns have already won two trophies this season — the NWSL Challenge Cup and the Women's International Champions Cup — are they will surely be looking to win two more, the NWSL Supporters Shield, and the NWSL title. Though Lindsey Horan has been ruled out for this match, the stacked Thorns still have options such as Christine Sinclair, Sophia Smith, Becky Sauerbrunn, Crystal Dunn, and the trailblazing young midfielder Olivia Moultrie, who just turned 16 last week.

The match will be aired on Paramount+, and tickets are available at SeatGeek Stadium.
